I was worried after seeing so many pictures in this thread of it, but mine is as good or better than the ones that I saw. I do see an ever so light glow when the screen is completely pitch black and only in the extreme corners, but under normal use I don't see anything. Had an issue with the resolution after updating the OS to Yosemite but a 10-15 work around online to see that it's a common issue and using the work around fixed it.Įither I'm not too familiar with what IPS glow is or my copy is rather pristine. Figured that if it was too big of an issue, I could just carry it into my local wholesale club. I didn't want to mess around with the lottery of getting a good copy from B&H or Amazon and having to ship the monitor back. In an ideal world I would've liked to gotten the curved version but when I saw that Costco had the flat version, I jumped on it. Got my 34UM95 from Costco yesterday, had a chance to hook it up to my 2012 Mac Mini and looks amazing. It's time to get a Ergotron and a GTX 980 for some more testing. The only downside on this thing so far is the monitor stand. Got this in two days after placing the order on October 28. The box got minor damage when it was shipped. The box was only shipped in the original LG packaging. Watching Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in a new way Searching for Backlight Bleeding (bottom brightness from light reflection off my desk) IPS Glow Disappears when look at different angle The IPS Glow disappears whenever I move my head 5 degrees each way. There's no backlight bleeding and only IPS glow. It paid off! It appears they have a September 2014 model that they are distributing and the panel looks perfect. With all the bad CostCo experiences on this thread, I took the risk of buying a 34UM95 from CostCo online this week since they have a good return policy. But games like this you won't really notice 120hz being different from 60hz since there isn't all that much movement. I really wish they would make it compatible because widescreen would make the game so much nicer seeing the full court. Some stuff stretch to the resolution like nba 2k15. This makes me want to get an Sli setup especially for future games that will be more demanding so if you are sensitive to microstutter then I recommend getting GTX 980 or faster single card to get 60 fps average. ![]() I have GTX 970 and with ultra settings most games hover around 40 minimum to 50ish fps average. I rarely play BF4 or titanfall so the monitor suits me more. Fallout 3, shadow of modor, metro are also nice to have that wide view and they aren't competitive so 120hz isn't necessary. I really love the widescreen for some games like civilization beyond earth, diablo 3, league of legends, and even stuff like guild wars looks great. Most of the games I play do not require me to have 120hz monitor so I don't really miss not having faster frame rate. The games you play really determine what type of monitor you should get.
